MarkoDown is built to work with local files without turning your documents into a data source.

Files and folders

MarkoDown reads and edits only the files and folders you choose. Your Markdown content is not uploaded to Tepesoft for rendering, editing, search, or analytics.

Purchases and activation

Purchases are processed by Paddle. Tepesoft receives the purchase email, transaction identifiers, plan, payment status, and entitlement dates needed to activate and support MarkoDown Pro. Payment card details remain with Paddle.

License data

For Direct licenses, MarkoDown stores a signed license token in the macOS Keychain. The activation service keeps purchase entitlement records, hashed activation codes, and hashed license tokens. These records are used only for access, fraud prevention, refunds, and support.

Diagnostics

MarkoDown does not include advertising trackers. The app does not send document text in diagnostic reports.

Website analytics

If you select Allow analytics, this website loads Tepesoft's self-hosted Umami analytics and Microsoft Clarity with strict text masking. They measure public-page visits, referral and campaign tags, device and browser details, approximate network location, clicks, and scrolling. They do not receive Markdown files, document text, purchase email, activation codes, payment details, or anything from the Mac app. Select Analytics choices at any time to allow or withdraw access.
